Blue Door Shelters

Many men, women, youth and children in our communities find themselves homeless and in need of short-term, emergency shelter. Fortunately we have programs and services that can help. Since 1982, Blue Door Shelters, a not-for-profit registered charitable agency governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, has been an integral part of our community providing essential emergency shelter service. We serve all of York Region and each of our emergency shelters provides residents with:

• accommodation and food;
• supportive counselling;
• referral to appropriate community services;
• life skill learning opportunities;
• and help to find and maintain permanent housing.
