One of the core values of YRAEH is inclusion – to actively seek and value the voices and strengths of individuals with lived experience of being homeless or experiencing risk of homelessness in our work. Today we launch our Hidden in Plain Sight photovoice project on the web. Up to this point, the photographs have been exhibited at a number of venues across York Region including art galleries, a municipal office and a faith community.
There are 228 units of affordable housing for seniors underway in Vaughan – part of the Canada-Ontario Affordable Housing Program. Funding has been provided through the Canada-Ontario Affordable Housing Program, York Region and the City of Vaughan for two new affordable housing developments for seniors.
On November 12th, there will be a public information meeting at Elgin Barrow Arena, Church St. Richmond Hill from 7.30-9.00 pm outlining the efforts underway to provide emergency housing and supports for single women who are in a housing crisis.
